The Thrane & Thrane Explorer 500 combines high speed data and phone/fax capability.
The Inmarsat BGAN terminal comes complete with compass for ease of antenna
orientation - simply enter your PIN and point the terminal then make a phone call.
High speed data up to 464 kbps. Plus support for streaming UP at 32, 64, 128
kbps. Built-in Bluetooth interface and handset charger.
Weight is only around 1.3 kg.
An external antenna and cable is available for longer-term setup.
Thrane & Thrane Explorer 700
This is similar to the 500 model except:
- Max 492 kbs data speed - slightly higher
- ISDN phone - not included on Explorer 500
- 256 kbs streaming - max 128 kbs on Explorer 500
- Includes Wi-fi - not on Explorer 500
- Weighs 3.2kg
- Larger antenna surface area
