Inmarsat's BGAN - Broadband Global Area Network - provides both voice and broadband data simultaneously through a single, truly portable device on a global basis.

Wherever you are, you can expect broadband data access just as though you were in your office.

Small portable units make BGAN ideal for journalists and aid workers but also make it quick and easy for anyone travelling to areas not always covered by land-based data services to set up a connection.

The vast majority of the world's land mass will be covered when the satellite roll out is complete. Until then Inmarsat's BGAN service is available in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.

Just like land based broadband, you can access data at speeds of up to 500 k bits per second - plus make a phone call at the same time. Guaranteed data rates are also available. BGAN supports the latest IP services, as well as traditional circuit-switched voice and data.

BGAN terminals typically offer connections using:

Data - up to 500 kbps
Streaming IP - up to 256 kbps - plus ISDN
Phone - at the same time as accessing data
Text messaging
